Dr. Jin Y. Kim is a graduate of dental school at the University of Sydney, Australia. He received specialty training in periodontics at UCLA School of Dentistry, and is board-certified by the American Board of Periodontology, and the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. He actively maintains private practice limited to periodontics and dental implants in Diamond Bar, California. His teaching and lecturing has taken himself to no less than 52 different nations globally, to date. As the founder and director of Global Dental Implant Academy (GDIA) he has organized well-structured live patient implant training center in Tijuana, Mexico from 2012 to 2022. He currently conducts a unique live patient soft tissue training courses in several locations including Mexico, US and in Vietnam. He has published on topics of soft tissue and regeneration in journals and has written several chapters in textbooks. He was the scientific chair of GDIA Global Symposium in 2013, and had co-chaired the 2014 Symposium in Prague, and 2015, 2016 programs in Antalya, Turkey and in Los Angeles in 2017 and 2018. He was the scientific chair of 2016 ICOI Summer Symposium, in San Diego, USA. As a Diplomate and Board Member of the World Academy of Ultrasonic Piezoelectric Bone Surgery (WAUPS) he has lectured at a number of WAUPS congresses, and was the co-chair of the Scientific Committee for the 2018 World Congress of Ultrasonic Piezoelectric Bone Surgery (WCUPS), held in Los Angeles, CA, USA. In January 2024, Jin will be chairing the ICOI Winter Symposium in San Diego again.

“The Anterior Magic: What Tricks Can We Pull Out of the Hat?”
Abstract
Perfecting the anterior tooth replacement with a dental implant has always pose as a great challenge. Given the introduction of many new techniques and materials, what options do we have readily available in 2023? Topics such as immediate placement, immediate provisionalization, partial extraction therapy are being discussed more often. Are these cutting-edge techniques backed up by scientific rationale and principles? Are these predictable? Can we maintain the most esthetic anterior implant restoration with confidence?
Lecture Outline:
Understand the clinical requirements for cosmetically pleasing ideal anterior dental implant restoration
Understand how “immediates” contribute to successful outcome: immediate placement, immediate provisionalization & immediate loading
Discuss various flap and incision designs that achieve soft tissue outcome in the anterior region
Discuss materials and methods available in contemporary clinical setting
Discuss the long term maintenance protocol for dental implants in the for anterior esthetic region
