Biography

 Dr. Jone Kim did his undergraduate study at UCLA and received his D.D.S. from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1994. He also received Master of Science (M.S.) in oral biology from UCLA Graduate School and completed his oral & maxillofacial surgery training from University Medical Center Fresno & UCLA in 1998. Currently, he is a lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains a private practice in Southern California focusing on the surgical aspect of implant surgery. He is also founder of dental Facebook group, OC-IDEA, which has over 2,100 members. In addition, Dr. Kim has given lectures and courses in US and around the world. Dr. Jone Kim is a Diplomate and board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Abstract

Implant surgery in the narrow alveolar ridge is still one of the challenging scenarios implant surgeons face today. Various techniques have been utilized to treat narrow alveolar ridges. During this short presentation, a few less invasive and predictable treatment options will be discussed, such as ridge expansion, ridge split and tunneling bone grafting
